AwFit ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and related services.

This policy applies to data collected through the AwFit iOS application and any related services. By using AwFit, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

2. Data We Collect

2.1 Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

• Display name or username
• Device identifier (for authentication)
• Account preferences and settings

2.2 Meal Photos and Nutrition Data

With your permission, we access photos you capture or select:

• Meal photos: Images you take or select for nutrition analysis
• Nutrition estimates: AI-generated calorie and macro estimates derived from meal photos
• Meal logs: Records of meals, ingredients, and nutritional information you enter or we estimate

2.3 HealthKit Data (Optional)

If you grant HealthKit permissions, we may access (but do not store separately):

• Steps, distance, and activity data
• Heart rate and cardiovascular metrics
• Workout information (type, duration, calories burned)
• Body measurements (weight, height)
• Sleep data (if available)

Important: HealthKit data remains in Apple Health under your control. We read this data to display it in the app but do not duplicate or store it separately.

2.4 Fitness and Workout Data

We collect and store locally on your device:

• Workout logs (exercises, sets, reps, duration)
• Run/walk routes (GPS data during workouts)
• Exercise history and progress tracking
• Calories burned during workouts

2.5 Device and Diagnostic Information

We may collect:

• Device type and model
• Operating system version
• App version and build number
• Crash logs and error reports (for debugging)
• Usage analytics (feature usage, interaction patterns)

2.6 Camera and Photo Library Permissions

With your permission, we access:

• Camera: To capture meal photos directly in the app
• Photo Library: To select existing photos for meal analysis

You can revoke these permissions at any time in iOS Settings > AwFit.

3. How We Use Data

3.1 App Functionality

• Provide meal nutrition analysis using AI services
• Track and display your fitness progress and metrics
• Sync data across your devices (when using optional cloud features)
• Enable social features (friends, groups, leaderboards) if you choose to use them

3.2 Service Improvement

• Understand how users interact with the app
• Identify and fix bugs and performance issues
• Improve AI accuracy and app features
• Analyze crash logs and error reports

3.3 Communication

• Send notifications about workouts, achievements, and app activity (with your permission)
• Respond to support requests
• Provide important app updates and information

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

4.1 We Do Not Sell Your Data

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.

4.2 Service Providers

We use the following third-party services that process data on our behalf:

• Firebase (Google): Cloud storage and authentication for optional social features. See Firebase Privacy Policy

These services process data according to their privacy policies and are bound by contractual obligations to protect your information.

4.3 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required by law or in response to valid legal requests (e.g., court orders, subpoenas, government investigations).

4.4 Business Transfers

In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change in ownership.

5. Permissions and User Controls

5.1 Camera and Photo Library

You can control camera and photo library access in iOS Settings > AwFit > Photos or Camera. If you revoke permission, meal photo analysis features will not be available.

5.2 HealthKit

You can control HealthKit access in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Health > AwFit. You can grant or revoke access to specific health data types at any time. Revoking access will disable related features but will not delete data already displayed in the app.

5.3 Location Services

Location access is used only for GPS workout tracking. You can control location access in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services > AwFit. Choose "Never," "While Using the App," or "Always."

5.4 Notifications

You can control notification permissions in iOS Settings > AwFit > Notifications. Disabling notifications will prevent workout reminders and achievement alerts.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data as follows:

• Local data (device): Retained until you delete the app or manually delete data within the app
• Cloud data (optional): Retained until you delete your account or request deletion
• Meal photos: Stored locally on your device; not retained on our servers
• Diagnostic data: Retained for up to 90 days for debugging purposes

You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting support@awfit.net or using the account deletion feature in Settings (if available).

7. Data Security

We implement reasonable security measures to protect your information:

• Local encryption: Data stored on your device is protected by iOS security features
• Encrypted transmission: Data transmitted to our servers uses HTTPS/TLS encryption
• Cloud security: Cloud data is stored using industry-standard encryption (Firebase uses AES-256 encryption at rest)
• Access controls: Access to user data is restricted to authorized personnel only

However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's Privacy

AwFit is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately at support@awfit.net, and we will take steps to delete such information.

9. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access: Request access to the personal data we hold about you
• Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
• Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Export: Export your data in a machine-readable format (contact support for assistance)
• Objection: Object to processing of your data for certain purposes
• Withdrawal: Withdraw consent for data processing (note: this may limit app functionality)

10. International Users

If you are using AwFit from outside the United States, please note that your data may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States where our servers are located. By using the app, you consent to this transfer. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for international data transfers.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by:

• Posting the new Privacy Policy on this page
• Updating the "Last Updated" date
• Notifying you through the app if changes are significant

You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
